Nutanix Engineer & Networking IT Support (Freelance – Maputo)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer to provide break‑and‑fix services on an on‑call freelance basis for enterprise infrastructure in Maputo, Mozambique. The role involves both onsite and remote troubleshooting, ensuring rapid resolution of hardware, network and virtualization incidents while delivering professional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver onsite and remote break‑and‑fix support for networking and infrastructure incidents.
• Deploy, configure and manage Nutanix HCI environments (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• Perform system upgrades, patching and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, virtualization and network issues.
• Resolve network connectivity problems (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
• Implement and support backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Respond to critical incidents within agreed response times.
• Collaborate with global and regional teams on infrastructure and cloud projects.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and incident reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, virtualization, networking or IT support engineering.
• Valid CCNA certification with at least a 90 % score on the induction assessment.
• Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Ability to work independently in customer‑facing environments with a professional demeanor.

Required skills

• Nutanix AOS, AHV and Prism.
• VMware and/or Hyper‑V.
• TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.
• Backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• PowerShell and/or Python scripting.
• CCNA certification.
• Optional: Nutanix certification (NCP or higher), AWS/Azure/GCP, Ansible, Terraform.
