Program Manager

About the role

GiveDirectly is seeking a Program Manager to lead end‑to‑end field operations for its cash‑transfer programmes in Mozambique. The role combines strategic ownership with hands‑on execution, driving enrollment and payment targets while building and managing field teams across Maputo, Nampula and other provinces.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full cycle of enrollment, verification and payment delivery, setting and tracking quantitative targets.
• Continuously improve enrollment, follow‑up and recipient‑experience processes.
• Coordinate with mobile‑money and telecom partners, government counterparts and community leaders.
• Build, mentor and supervise field teams to ensure operational efficiency and safeguarding compliance.
• Surface operational and safeguarding risks early and work with internal audit and safeguarding units to mitigate them.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Global Programs, Fundraising, Technology, Data, Safeguarding and Internal Audit teams.

Required profile

• Highly independent and solutions‑oriented, comfortable shifting between strategic and tactical work.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced, tech‑driven environment with limited day‑to‑day supervision.
• Demonstrated experience managing large‑scale programmes in humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong analytical mindset and commitment to high ownership.
