Senior Accountant - Accounts Receivable

About the role

Sasol's OMEFIN finance function in Southern Africa is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant - Accounts Receivable to join its Finance team in Maputo, Mozambique. The role covers the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including customer billing, collections, revenue reporting, intercompany accounting, month-end, half-year and year-end closure, forecasting and budgeting, and reporting to stakeholders. The closing date is 18 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process monthly invoices for Gas, Condensate, Light Oil & Condensate (LOC), LPG and other customers, and issue credit notes, interest invoices and related documents
• Maintain revenue and billing models and deliver invoices to customers on time
• Monitor customer accounts, follow up on outstanding payments, prepare weekly trade receivables ageing reports and distribute cash distributions
• Run the budget and forecast cycle for revenue, accounts receivable and intercompany, and support half-year and year-end closure
• Perform month-end close, post journals, reconcile the general ledger and run SOX testing
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and reporting

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CA(SA) or equivalent) is an advantage
• Minimum 6 years' experience in Accounts Receivable, Financial Accounting or Revenue Accounting
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting principles
• Understanding of commercial and contractual principles of Gas and Condensate production license agreements, including PSA and PPA arrangements

Required skills

• Experience with financial reporting systems; SAP, Onestream and Power BI experience preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
