Senior Commercial Manager - Southern & Eastern Africa

About the role

Roll Group is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to develop and secure transport, heavy‑lift and logistics projects across Southern and Eastern Africa. You will work closely with clients, Managing Directors and global colleagues to turn opportunities into contracts and ensure smooth hand‑over to Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and grow relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and demonstrating Roll Group’s value.
• Identify, develop and pursue land and maritime transport, heavy‑lift and logistics opportunities within the region.
• Prepare and coordinate pre‑qualifications, transport calculations, offers and tender documents.
• Conduct market and competitor analyses and translate findings into commercial opportunities.
• Manage contract negotiations, legal review and ensure effective hand‑over to Operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics or related field.
• 7–10 years of commercial experience, preferably in heavy transport, heavy lifting or project cargo shipping.
• Proven senior‑level sales or account‑management track record in Southern/Eastern Africa.
• Fluency in English; Portuguese is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the region and internationally.

Required skills

• Project calculation for bidding purposes.
• Proficient use of CRM systems to track contacts and projects.
