Senior Contract Engineer

About the role

The Senior Contract Engineer supports the Contracts and Procurement entity by defining contractual responsibilities, developing contracting strategies, and overseeing complex tender processes. The role works closely with the DUET team to ensure contracts align with operational needs and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop contracting strategies, issue calls for tenders, and lead the selection of qualified contractors and suppliers.
• Negotiate commercial bids, conduct bid analysis, and prepare Recommendations To Award (RTA) for the Contracts Committee.
• Establish technical contracts and agreements, manage handover to partner entities, and monitor contractor performance.
• Assist C&P management in claim settlement and lawsuit resolution in coordination with legal, insurance, and finance teams.
• Maintain and update the contract management tool, track KPIs, and ensure continuous improvement of contract practices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) with 10‑15 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in technical contracts.
• Advanced management and human‑relations abilities, strong problem‑solving and planning skills.
• Excellent negotiation capabilities and understanding of core operational activities.
• Ability to train newly recruited C&P personnel and conduct induction sessions.
