Senior Contract Engineer – Oil & Gas

About the role

Comsip, a subsidiary of VINCI Energies Oil & Gas, provides technical resources for industrial projects worldwide. It is recruiting a Senior Contract Engineer in Maputo, Mozambique, to act as the contractual member of the DUET / Project Engineer for Special Projects, covering all contracts and procurement matters from project framing to close-out. The position starts on 01/12/2026 for a minimum of 12 months and is renewable.

Key responsibilities

• Propose the contracting or procurement strategy and call for tender execution: select the agreement form, consolidate the CFT dossier, define evaluation criteria, issue and follow up expressions of interest and calls for tenders, and conduct bid analysis and negotiation
• Assess and mitigate contractual risks, and develop and present the Recommendation to Award (RTA)
• Monitor contractor performance with the DUET and support the project engineer on all contractual aspects until close-out
• Evaluate and manage contractor claims, and assist C&P management in settling claims and lawsuits, including negotiations
• Monitor ongoing contracts, take part in renewals and amendments, and maintain an updated Special Projects Contract Register
• Operate the TEPMA1 process and tools (Contract Committee, SAP, ARIBA)

Required profile

• Advanced contracts and procurement competencies, with 10-15 years of professional experience (minimum 2 years in technical contracts) and exposure to operations
• Diploma: Master International; engineering education desired
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Ability to train newly recruited C&P personnel through C&P induction

Required skills

• Familiarity with standard contract forms such as FIDIC and bespoke forms
• Strong knowledge of claims evaluation and change order preparation
• Advanced certification in C&P tools
• Negotiation, planning, problem solving and coordination skills
