Social & Behavior Change Officer (NO-2, Temporary, 11 months)

About the role

The Social & Behavior Change (SBC) Officer will support UNICEF's Nampula office in designing, implementing and evaluating evidence‑based SBC strategies that improve child health, education and protection outcomes. This is an 11‑month temporary appointment for a national of Mozambique.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and analyse research, data and evidence to inform SBC program design and monitoring.
• Design, plan and implement SBC activities that are grounded in social and behavioural evidence.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of SBC interventions in both development and emergency contexts.
• Coordinate closely with the Chief of Field Office, the SBC specialist in Maputo and the local SBC team.
• Contribute to the development of inclusive, innovative SBC strategies for the country programme.

Required profile

• National of the Republic of Mozambique.
• University degree in social sciences, public health, communications, development studies or a related field.
• Experience in social and behaviour change, research, data analysis or monitoring and evaluation in development or humanitarian settings.
• Strong understanding of the local cultural, social and economic context.
