Social & Behavior Change Officer (Temporary, 11 months)

About the role

The Social & Behavior Change (SBC) Officer will support the design, implementation and evaluation of evidence‑based SBC strategies for UNICEF’s country programme in Mozambique. Working under the guidance of the Chief of the Nampula field office and the SBC specialist in Maputo, the officer will contribute for six months to a broader 11‑month temporary assignment.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and use research, data and evidence to shape SBC program design, measurement and monitoring.
• Design, plan and implement SBC activities that are grounded in social and behavioural evidence.
• Support the operationalisation of SBC by advocating for the approach, mobilising resources and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of SBC interventions in both development and humanitarian contexts.
• Collaborate closely with the SBC team in Maputo and other partners to ensure alignment with UNICEF’s cross‑cutting strategy.

Required profile

• Open only to nationals of the Republic of Mozambique.
• Experience in designing or managing SBC programmes in development or emergency settings.
• Ability to work under the guidance of senior UNICEF staff and in coordination with multiple partners.
