Social & Behavior Change Officer (Temporary, 11 months) – Nampula

About the role

The Social & Behavior Change (SBC) Officer will support UNICEF’s Nampula Zone Office in designing, managing, monitoring and evaluating evidence‑based SBC strategies that improve child health, nutrition, education and protection outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Generate, analyse and apply research, data and evidence to inform SBC program design and measurement.
• Design, plan and implement SBC activities that are grounded in social and behavioural evidence.
• Monitor and evaluate SBC interventions in both development and emergency contexts.
• Collaborate closely with the Chief of the Nampula field office, the SBC specialist (P3) in Maputo and the broader SBC team.
• Contribute to the development of inclusive and innovative SBC strategies for the country programme.

Required profile

• National of the Republic of Mozambique.
• Experience in research, data analysis and evidence‑based programme design.
• Ability to work under the guidance of senior UNICEF staff and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to UNICEF’s mission and child‑rights agenda.
