Social & Behavior Change Officer (Temporary, 6 months)

About the role

The Social & Behavior Change Officer will support the design, management, monitoring and evaluation of evidence‑based SBC strategies for UNICEF’s country programme in Mozambique. Working under the guidance of the Chief of the Nampula field office and the SBC specialist in Maputo, the role is a six‑month temporary appointment.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and implementation of inclusive, innovative SBC strategies aligned with UNICEF’s cross‑cutting programme.
• Support monitoring, evaluation and evidence generation to inform programme adjustments.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including community groups and partners, to ensure effective SBC interventions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Social & Behavioral Science, Communication for Development or related field.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience in social and behavior change, community engagement or public advocacy.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese.
