Social & Behavior Change Officer (Temporary, 6 months)

About the role

The Social & Behavior Change Officer will support the design, management, monitoring and evaluation of evidence‑based SBC strategies for UNICEF's country programme in Mozambique. Working under the guidance of the Chief of the Nampula field office and the SBC specialist in Maputo, the officer will contribute for six months to inclusive and innovative interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing SBC strategies that address cognitive, social and structural determinants of behavior.
• Support evidence generation, community engagement and strategic communication activities.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, partners and the SBC team to ensure alignment with programme objectives.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of SBC interventions and provide recommendations for improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Social & Behavioral Science, Communication for Development or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in social and behavior change, community engagement or public advocacy.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese.
