Space Market, Innovation & Investment Expert

About the role

The Non-Key Expert will support the Africa-EU Space Partnership Programme by driving market development, innovation and investment activities across African and European space ecosystems. This role focuses on analysing space and geospatial markets, fostering entrepreneurship, and preparing projects for financing.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market studies and analysis of space and geospatial sectors in Africa and the EU.
• Design and implement innovation instruments, incubation and acceleration programmes.
• Support commercialisation strategies and improve investment readiness of space‑related ventures.
• Facilitate access to finance and connect private‑sector investors with promising projects.
• Provide policy and institutional partnership advice to strengthen the space ecosystem.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in economics, business administration, engineering, innovation management or a related field.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French or Portuguese is a plus.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in market analysis, innovation, entrepreneurship, business development or investment advisory in technology sectors.
• Minimum 4 years of experience specifically in space or geospatial markets, including market studies, incubation, commercialisation or finance access.
• Familiarity with African space markets and investment ecosystems is an asset.
