Specialist Community Development

About the role

Sasol is recruiting a Specialist Community Development for its Regional Ops and Asset Services unit in Temane, Mozambique. The role leads the implementation of the Livelihood Restoration Plan (LRP) and manages a portfolio of Social Investment (SI) projects, helping displaced or impacted households move toward sustainable economic self-sufficiency, with a focus on value chain development in agriculture, fisheries and livestock.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full execution of the Livelihood Restoration Plan so that impacted households achieve measurable socio-economic advancement in line with IFC Performance Standards and Sasol's internal policies.
• Lead the technical design of value chains in agriculture, fisheries and livestock, turning subsistence practices into market-oriented enterprises linked to regional supply chains.
• Supervise the lifecycle of SI infrastructure and development projects, including resource allocation, vendor management, budget oversight and SHE compliance.
• Manage relationships with community leaders, local authorities and third-party partners to align expectations and protect company interests.
• Monitor progress with verification methods, adjust scope and report data-driven results on socio-economic impact and budget outcomes.
• Carry out internal and external reporting, budget verification and impact assessments using project management tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Rural Development, Agrarian Economics, Rural Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is also listed as required.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in social development and sustainability, with strong skills in social investment and value chain enhancement.
