Training Specialist

About the role

Jhpiego Mozambique is seeking a highly qualified Training Specialist to lead the design, development, adaptation, and delivery of training programmes and capacity‑strengthening initiatives under a project assignment. The role focuses on creating participatory, gender‑responsive learning materials and supporting stakeholders at national, provincial, district, community, and institutional levels.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop curricula, learning packages, facilitation guides, manuals and other educational materials aligned with project objectives.
• Conduct training needs assessments to identify capacity gaps among target groups.
• Develop and implement training strategies, methodologies and capacity‑building plans, including Training of Trainers (ToT) programmes.
• Facilitate workshops, seminars and training sessions for diverse audiences, ensuring integration of gender equality, GBV, SRH, safeguarding and SBCC approaches.
• Adapt training materials to local cultural contexts, literacy levels and specific populations such as adolescents and young people.
• Apply participatory adult‑learning methods and support the development of digital and blended learning tools.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship and monitoring of training effectiveness, producing reports and lessons learned.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Educational Sciences or related field (Master’s preferred).
• At least 8 years of professional experience in designing and delivering training programmes, curriculum development and Training of Trainers.
• Demonstrated ability to create gender‑responsive and context‑appropriate learning materials.
• Experience working with stakeholders at national, provincial and community levels.
