Environmental Site Officer (M/F) – Mozambique

About the role

The Environmental Site Officer will support our client’s Oil & Gas operations in Mozambique by ensuring that both company and contractor environmental management systems are effectively implemented and monitored. You will play a key part in safeguarding the environment through daily verification, monitoring, and reporting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor Company and Contractor Environmental Management Systems.
• Carry out day‑to‑day Project Environmental Verification and Assurance monitoring.
• Conduct wider in‑field environmental monitoring and compile data on a regular basis.
• Inspect construction sites, perform environmental audits, and liaise with contractors on performance and reporting.
• Record unsafe acts, lead incident investigations, and ensure transparent follow‑up actions.
• Assist with logistical arrangements for environmental monitoring and specialist site visits.
• Develop monitoring reports, support HSE applications, and promote an environmental culture through inductions, toolbox talks, and meetings.
• Prepare clear handovers for positional continuity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Ecology or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction, operation or similar environments.
• Good knowledge of Mozambique environmental legislation; familiarity with industry best practices is a plus.
• Fluency in Portuguese and strong professional English (written and spoken).
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with experience working in cross‑cultural teams.
• Mozambican nationality.
