Plant Manager – Marine Construction Project

About the role

BESIX Group is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead equipment operations for a large marine construction project in Mozambique. The role is responsible for ensuring that all plant and machinery meet project objectives while adhering to company standards and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead functional management of all project equipment, including mechanics, lubrication, maintenance control, and fuel.
• Coordinate with the Construction Manager to align equipment planning with overall project schedules and corrective actions.
• Develop the plant department’s organizational chart, defining roles, authorities, and responsibilities down to the foreman level.
• Supervise all services related to equipment, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
• Interact with production, planning, and commercial teams to propose technical solutions that meet deadlines and cost targets.
• Conduct field inspections, manage daily production reporting, and address equipment‑related issues with the Employer and Engineer.
• Define and request necessary equipment allocations and liaise with supervision teams on equipment matters.

Required profile

• Mechanical or electro‑mechanical engineering degree (mechanical engineer specialization).
• Proven experience in mechanical and managerial aspects of plant and equipment management.
• Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance, safety, quality, and HSE standards.
