Senior Research Officer – Multi‑Sector Assessments (Pemba, Mozambique)

About the role

IMPACT Initiatives is seeking a Senior Research Officer to lead the design, implementation and analysis of multi‑sector needs assessments in Mozambique. Reporting to the Country Representative, the officer will ensure high‑quality evidence supports humanitarian planning and decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full research cycle, from methodology development to data collection oversight and analysis.
• Coordinate with humanitarian partners, government counterparts and field teams to align analytical products with information needs.
• Oversee the production of thematic briefs, reports and presentations using existing REACH data.
• Provide day‑to‑day management and capacity‑building for the research team.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all data and prevent unauthorized sharing.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in humanitarian assessments, monitoring, evaluation or research design.
• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., international studies, development, data science).
• Strong understanding of the aid system and experience with coordination forums.
• Ability to work in a complex security environment and familiarity with Mozambique is an asset.

What we offer

• Monthly salary between 2 580 CHF and 2 640 CHF (pre‑tax).
• Monthly living allowance of 300 USD.
