Senior Internal Control Specialist

About the role

The Senior Internal Control Specialist will safeguard the integrity of financial, operational, and technology processes for Vodafone Mozambique. You will design, implement, and monitor an internal control framework that mitigates risk, protects assets, and ensures regulatory compliance in a high‑volume transactional environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain an effective internal control framework aligned with industry standards.
• Create policies and procedures to support risk management and compliance.
• Map end‑to‑end business processes, identify control gaps, and recommend mitigation actions.
• Lead the internal control self‑assessment (RCSA) programme and support functional departments.
• Evaluate control design and effectiveness, develop improvement plans, and track action status.
• Produce regular control dashboards and reports for senior management.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed a culture of control and provide training on policies and procedures.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in risk management, internal controls, audit, or information security, preferably in telecom, banking or technology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proven ability to influence senior management and drive change in a fast‑moving environment.
