Operator – Packaging Equipment

About the role

The role focuses on safely operating and maintaining packaging equipment in the filling and labelling areas, which have a significant impact on cost and consumer quality. You will work within a dynamic team to ensure optimal effectiveness of production processes while upholding safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Complete operator workstation and team‑room administration, taking corrective actions as required.
• Manage PIMS & POMS, addressing negative trends promptly.
• Use QFRs and conduct 5 WHY analyses when triggered.
• Interpret and implement the production plan for each shift.
• Operate manual and automatic machines according to standards and monitor production processes, correcting any negative trends.
• Maintain process quality and productivity throughout the shift.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience making commercial decisions in a packaging hall (financial, operational, people).
• Strong performance record with a disciplined work ethic and a focus on quality.
• Understanding of health, safety and labour legislation.
• Minimum education: Grade 12 with mechanical or electrical aptitude.
• Technical qualification (N3 or similar) and machine‑specific experience.
• At least 9 months on‑the‑job training, with SKAP completed within 12 months.
