Rolling Stock Engineer – Beira

About the role

The Rolling Stock Engineer will be responsible for managing and delivering complex rolling‑stock projects for shunt locomotives, freight wagons and specialist rolling‑stock equipment in Beira. The role combines asset management, project governance and engineering advisory functions.

Key responsibilities

• Managing rolling stock assets, including shunt locomotives, freight and specialist wagons.
• Delivering rolling stock projects, overseeing scope, budget, variations and daily progress.
• Ensuring project governance and quality assurance in line with project management standards.
• Collating and reporting cost data and project spend versus budget.
• Providing engineering advice and managing interfaces with delivery teams and suppliers.
• Championing High Performance, High Engagement principles across the workforce.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in complex rolling stock repair and maintenance projects, especially locomotives.
• Knowledge of asset management best practices (ISO 55000) and project management systems (ISO 9001).
• Proven ability to analyse, interpret and present complex data clearly.
