Area 2 Manager – Flare & Vent Systems (LNG Project)

About the role

The role leads site execution for critical LNG infrastructure, overseeing the construction, pre‑commissioning and hand‑over of flare and vent systems, water treatment, propane storage and API tanks. It requires strong HSE leadership and close coordination with EPC contractors and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead construction activities within the assigned area, ensuring safety and schedule compliance.
• Drive a strong HSE culture across client, EPC and subcontractor teams.
• Oversee installation readiness and construction of LNG‑related systems and utilities.
• Coordinate daily construction work in line with project execution plans.
• Monitor progress, identify deviations and implement mitigation actions with the EPC contractor.
• Manage interfaces between disciplines and systems.
• Support pre‑commissioning and SIMOPS activities.
• Review method statements, risk assessments and execution plans for compliance and constructability.
• Ensure QA/QC processes are applied and continuously improved.
• Maintain on‑site presence to oversee quality, safety and contractor performance.
• Report progress, risks and key issues to project management.
• Coordinate procurement and logistics for critical equipment and materials.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, standards and permitting requirements.
• Participate in technical reviews, planning meetings and lessons‑learned activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent Level 6 qualification.
• 15+ years experience on large‑scale industrial projects.
• Minimum 5 years in a construction management or leadership role.
• Strong experience in LNG, refinery, petrochemical, GTL or gas‑processing projects.
• Proven track record on greenfield EPC projects.
• Deep knowledge of HSE, QA/QC, construction execution and project controls.
• Experience managing complex multi‑discipline interfaces.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to influence EPC contractors and critical project decisions.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); Portuguese or French a plus.
