Distribution Manager

About the role

Construa, a leading supplier of construction materials in Mozambique, is looking for an experienced Distribution Manager to lead and optimise its national distribution and warehousing network. The role covers three distribution centres – Maputo, DCDondo and Nacala – and is responsible for the full flow of stock from receipt to final delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company’s distribution, warehousing and logistics strategy.
• Oversee all distribution centre operations from receiving through to final delivery.
• Improve warehouse layout, stock flow, storage utilisation and overall operational efficiency.
• Ensure outbound orders are fulfilled accurately and delivered on time.
• Manage inter‑branch and inter‑DC transfer operations and lead the Transfers Team.
• Reduce ageing and stagnant stock through redistribution initiatives.
• Plan and execute warehouse restructuring, design, equipment planning and operational budgeting projects.
• Coordinate with the fleet department to boost transport efficiency.
• Implement KPIs, SOPs, operational controls and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and relevant regulations.
• Lead, mentor and develop warehouse, logistics and distribution teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading large‑scale distribution or warehouse operations.
• Strong operational leadership with a track record of improving fulfilment rates and service levels.
• Demonstrated project execution skills, especially in warehouse redesign and process optimisation.
• Ability to identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
