Escrow Accounts Reconciliation Officer

About the role

The Escrow Accounts Reconciliation Officer is responsible for the daily reconciliation of all escrow accounts used to collect the Single Window Network Charge (Taxa de Rede – JUE). The role involves downloading transaction reports, matching them with bank statements, and ensuring accurate financial records.

Key responsibilities

• Download and review Network Charge transaction reports from the Business Intelligence (BI) system each day.
• Reconcile escrow accounts against bank statements from all participating banks.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately captured.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling differences, escalating unresolved items as needed.
• Monitor outstanding and uncleared items to ensure timely closure.
• Liaise with banks, the reporting team, the Chief Accountant, and the Finance Manager on discrepancies.
• Support the generation and issuance of Single Window invoices.
• Maintain complete, up‑to‑date records of all escrow transactions and related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with tax obligations, including preparation and submission of tax returns.
• Prepare regular reconciliation status reports and ad‑hoc reports for management.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date list of authorised bank signatories and process changes promptly.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and follow up with relevant stakeholders.
• Good organizational skills for maintaining records and documentation.
• Familiarity with tax compliance and reporting requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) systems for report extraction.
• Experience in bank reconciliation and escrow account management.
