Finance Operations Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Operations Supervisor to lead the automation and optimisation of our finance processes within a leading African bank. The role will shape operational strategies, ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement across the finance operations pillar.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational strategies to increase finance operations efficiency through automation.
• Analyse gaps in current processes and recommend automation of redundant activities.
• Improve process quality to ensure timely collection of fees, commissions and taxes.
• Process transactions using robots or APIs to minimise human intervention.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory duties and maintain up‑to‑date policies and procedures.
• Apply the bank’s risk‑management framework and monitor controls.
• Prepare and submit regular performance and management reports.
• Track key performance indicators and drive achievement of targets.
• Lead and participate in projects aimed at operational efficiency and digital transformation.
• Streamline reporting and manual transactional processes to increase accuracy and reduce turnaround times.
• Provide leadership for financial process transformation, collaborating with business units, IT and risk teams.
• Manage, coach and develop a high‑performing finance operations team.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and provide insights for cost optimisation and resource allocation.

Required profile

• National Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Business, Commerce or Management Studies (required).
• Proven experience in finance operations, preferably within a banking environment.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and risk‑management principles.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive process automation initiatives.
