About the role
The General Manager – Sales leads the development and execution of the organisation’s sales strategy at a general level. This role involves setting sales targets, defining sales territories, and creating actionable plans to achieve revenue and growth objectives while overseeing market development, customer acquisition, performance monitoring, and financial stewardship within the sales function.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales plans, set targets, and design territory structures.
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities and support new product launches.
- Lead customer acquisition initiatives through lead generation, market research, and strategic outreach.
- Track key performance indicators, evaluate team performance, and drive continuous improvements.
- Maintain up‑to‑date market intelligence to refine sales approaches.
- Manage sales budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Forecast sales trends to guide planning and adjust strategies.
- Build and maintain key client relationships, leading high‑level negotiations.
