Grant Accountant

About the role

World Vision is seeking a Grant Accountant to join its finance team in Mozambique on a fixed‑term basis. The role supports the planning, budgeting, and financial reporting of donor‑funded projects, ensuring compliance with World Vision policies and donor regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets, aligning them with goals and donor requirements.
• Prepare monthly grant cash‑flow statements and quarterly cash‑flow analyses for donor approval.
• Update and reconcile MyPbas and Sun 6 systems to reflect accurate budget commitments.
• Classify expenses using WV analysis codes, post entries in Sun 6, and review grant journal entries for accuracy.
• Produce high‑quality financial reports, including quarterly financial reports, pipeline analyses, and annual expenditure analyses.
• Monitor actual expenditures against approved donor line items and flag irregularities.
• Upload transactions to the general ledger, review invoices before payment, and ensure compliance with donor cost principles.
• Support financial monitoring systems, partner financial reviews, and internal control set‑up.

Required profile

• Experience in grant accounting or nonprofit financial management.
• Strong understanding of donor regulations and internal financial policies.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with multiple financial systems.
