Management Accountant – Mozambique

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑minded Management Accountant to own the finance function for our Mozambique entity. Based in Matola, you will work closely with the South African head office, handling both strategic and operational finance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full finance function for the Mozambique entity.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports to the South African head office.
• Oversee tax compliance, including VAT and statutory filings.
• Develop budgets, forecasts and perform financial analysis.
• Manage working capital, cash flow and treasury activities.
• Lead a small finance team (2 direct reports) and ensure robust financial controls.
• Partner with operational management to support business performance.
• Identify and implement process improvements and finance efficiencies.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting/Finance or a related qualification.
• 3–7 years of experience in management accounting or finance leadership.
• Experience in multinational or cross‑border environments is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of tax and statutory compliance.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese (non‑negotiable).
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability.
• Ability to work independently in an operational setting.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
