Operations Supervisor

About the role

The Operations Supervisor will oversee daily operational activities for the Agriculture, Minerals, and Oil, Gas & Chemicals (OGC) sectors at SGS Mozambique's Nacala branch. Reporting to the Branch Coordinator, the role ensures that client inspections and work instructions are executed efficiently and in line with SGS technical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive inspection nominations and work instructions, guaranteeing proper execution across AGRI, Minerals, and OGC sectors.
• Maintain communication with warehouses, terminals, and operational facilities, keeping management informed.
• Supervise managerial, administrative, and technical tasks required for day‑to‑day operations.
• Review and approve internal operational reports and recommend process improvements.
• Establish documentation and instructions needed for service delivery and ensure compliance with the Quality Management System.
• Oversee file processing from service request receipt through invoicing.
• Follow up on operational discrepancies and address customer complaints in collaboration with the Line Manager.
• Act as the primary interface between SGS and its clients, identifying training needs for inspectors.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising operational activities in inspection or certification environments.
• Strong knowledge of inspection procedures for agriculture, minerals, and oil & gas sectors.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
