Petroleum Engineer I

About the role

The Petroleum Engineer I will support high‑quality business decisions by delivering fit‑for‑purpose solutions to subsurface challenges related to reservoir management. Working closely with operations, facilities and asset management teams, the role focuses on monitoring well and reservoir performance, modelling, and providing technical recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor well production, identify deviations, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Plan, monitor and analyse reservoir surveillance activities such as gradient surveys, PLTs, flow‑build‑up, isochronal, interference tests and cased‑hole logging.
• Update Reservoir Management Plans (RMP) based on surveillance results.
• Perform well and reservoir modelling using IPM, CMG, Kappa and Prosper.
• Participate in PVT fluid sampling, analysis and fluid modelling.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary well reviews and assess remedial or optimisation actions.
• Collaborate with subsurface specialists to ensure proper data acquisition, processing, model calibration and recommendation formulation.
• Support reservoir engineering inputs for drilling and work‑over proposals, including artificial lift and well interventions.
• Maintain production databases, run reservoir simulations and prepare short‑term production forecasts.

Required skills

• Experience with reservoir and well modelling software: IPM, CMG, Kappa, Prosper.
• Knowledge of PVT analysis and fluid modelling.
• Familiarity with reservoir surveillance techniques: gradient surveys, PLTs, flow‑build‑up, isochronal, interference tests, cased‑hole logging.
• Understanding of artificial lift, completions and well intervention practices.
• Proficiency in managing production databases and running reservoir simulations.
