Special Projects Manager – Limpopo National Park

About the role

Peace Parks Foundation is seeking a Special Projects Manager to lead donor‑funded initiatives that advance the development of Limpopo National Park and its surrounding communities. Based in the park, you will combine field work with strong organisational and analytical abilities to deliver measurable conservation and livelihood outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end oversight of multiple third‑party funded projects, such as One Limpopo One Health and Transfrontier Conservation Area Livelihoods.
• Lead implementation planning, monitoring, quality control and risk mitigation across assigned projects.
• Manage project budgets, perform basic forecasting, and reallocate funds as needed.
• Oversee procurement processes to ensure compliance with Peace Parks Foundation and donor requirements.
• Ensure adherence to social and environmental safeguards and maintain timely donor communications.
• Prepare regular progress reports for national authorities, steering committees and donor agencies.
• Support complex contracting, contribute to funding proposals and develop public‑relations material.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a project manager, preferably in conservation, community development or related sectors.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent numerical aptitude and comfort working with spreadsheets.
• Passion for nature and willingness to live and work in a remote bush environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (spreadsheets) for budgeting and reporting.
