Territorial Development Senior Manager

About the role

The Territorial Development Senior Manager will lead social performance and community engagement initiatives for the Afungi site in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique. Reporting to senior leadership, the role is responsible for designing and executing stakeholder engagement, land access, and cultural heritage management plans while ensuring compliance with international and local standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement tactical plans for stakeholder engagement, land access, and cultural heritage management.
• Oversee the Afungi social performance program, including community development funds and livelihood restoration.
• Manage resettlement activities, ensuring compliance with IFC, World Bank, AfDB, and Mozambican regulations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with communities, government agencies, CSOs, and community‑based organisations.
• Lead, mentor, and coordinate the social performance team at site level.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of experience in social performance, stakeholder engagement, and resettlement within the extractive industry, with deep knowledge of IFC, World Bank, AfDB standards and Mozambican regulations.
• Proven ability to develop and manage budgets for social investment programmes and to deliver community development strategies.
• Strong leadership and team‑management skills, capable of mentoring staff and fostering effective collaboration.
