Territory Manager – Maputo

About the role

The Territory Manager is responsible for implementing Vodafone's strategy in the Maputo province, overseeing direct, retail and M‑Pay (M‑Pesa) channels, and ensuring product availability across all clusters. The role builds local strategies, works closely with main distributors, and drives market‑share growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and control all field activities, guaranteeing retail stores have required materials and are fully operational while collaborating with Marketing, CVM, Retail Operations and Terminals.
• Develop and maintain dealer and sub‑dealer relationships, negotiate and implement sales plans for sub‑dealers, street vendors, direct and electronic channels, and drive growth in revenue, market share and smartphone penetration.
• Train M‑Pay agents and manage float to ensure compliance, excellent customer experience and adherence to regulations.
• Ensure brand and marketing materials are available and in good condition at all touch points (stores, agents, kiosks) and coordinate marketing events with the Cluster Supervisor according to budget and priorities.
• Own retail KPIs for the province, communicate business strategy to dealers, conduct regular visits, monitor performance and provide reports and feedback in partnership with Retail Operations.
• Coordinate with the Marketing team to align field activities with promotional calendars and revenue targets.
• Provide commercial feedback and reports to senior management to inform strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
• Proven experience and knowledge of telecom services applied in a customer‑focused manner.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to handle customer complaints effectively.
• Empathy and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Active listening and leadership qualities, including delegating tasks and supporting team members.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
