Business Manager – Industries & Environment

About the role

The Business Manager – Industries & Environment (I&E) will develop and manage SGS's industrial and environmental services in Mozambique, driving revenue growth and operational excellence across energy, mining and other sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Own full P&L responsibility, develop business plans, monitor performance and optimise costs.
• Oversee delivery of inspection, supervision, EHS, QA/QC and I&E services ensuring contracts meet quality, time and budget targets.
• Support sales teams in identifying opportunities, preparing tenders and converting leads into contracts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, regulators and partners, acting as escalation point for major contracts.
• Lead local operational teams, ensure appropriate staffing, competency development and a safety‑focused culture.

Required profile

• Degree in Environmental Management, Metallurgical, Mechanical or Chemistry Engineering; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Strong understanding of energy, mining and industrial sectors with commercial awareness.
• Proven leadership, organisational and project management abilities in an international matrix environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of inspection, QA/QC, testing and technical services.
• Experience in contract negotiation and commercial agreement structuring.
