Field Operations Manager – South Region

About the role

The Field Operations Manager will provide operational, administrative and implementation support across a portfolio of protected areas in the southern region, with a primary focus on Mozambique operations. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the role is based in the Maputo regional office and involves frequent travel to project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and support operational needs of protected areas, ensuring standards, best practices and systems are in place.
• Coordinate regional work‑plans, identify bottlenecks and facilitate cross‑functional support.
• Work with project managers to address constraints, track milestones and provide operational information for reporting.
• Support risk identification, compliance, health‑safety and incident management across the portfolio.
• Contribute to budgeting, financial monitoring, procurement and resource utilisation for parks and projects.
• Represent Peace Parks at institutional and technical meetings and ensure continuity during manager absences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations, conservation management, public administration, finance or related field.
• 7‑10 years of relevant experience in operations, administration or project management, preferably in NGOs or conservation organisations.
• Proven experience managing operations across multiple projects, locations or countries and supporting field‑based teams.
• Experience in financial administration, procurement and operational planning; donor‑funded project experience is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of protected‑area or natural‑resource management environments is strongly advantageous.
