Camp Coordinator

About the role

The Camp Coordinator will oversee daily camp operations in Afungi, Mozambique, ensuring that accommodation, catering, housekeeping, and recreational facilities meet company standards and contractual obligations. Reporting to the Camp Manager and Site Services Manager, the role combines logistics, hospitality, and safety responsibilities to support a safe and efficient living environment for staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day camp operations, including accommodation allocation, occupancy records, and resource utilization.
• Manage reception activities such as personnel check‑in/check‑out, visitor registration, and accurate POB reporting.
• Coordinate travel logistics, flight bookings, airport transfers, and personnel movement planning.
• Oversee catering operations, ensuring food quality, menu compliance, hygiene standards, and contractual scope of work.
• Monitor and maintain recreational facilities, conduct inspections, manage inventory, and coordinate repairs.
• Organise hospitality services and special events, handling menu planning, venue setup, and execution.
• Allocate vehicles and drivers for camp operations, VIP visits, and airstrip transportation, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Liaise with contractors, service providers, and camp residents to resolve operational issues promptly.
• Conduct routine HSE inspections, enforce camp rules, and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on occupancy, catering performance, visitor management, and operational metrics.

Required profile

• Certification in Hotel or Catering Management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics operations and camp management at a supervisory level.
• Strong written and verbal English skills; Portuguese or French is advantageous.
• General knowledge of the oil and gas industry and understanding of safety, environmental, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Demonstrated HSE culture, safety leadership, and ability to influence critical decisions.
• Residence in the local area is a plus.
