Chief Executive Officer – Insurance & Medical

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer will lead Britam Mozambique, overseeing the General Insurance and Medical business lines, driving sustainable growth, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute Mozambique’s strategy aligned with Britam Group priorities (ASCEND 2026–2030).
• Translate strategy into annual business plans, budgets, and performance targets.
• Drive revenue, profitability, underwriting margin, and market share across GI and Health portfolios.
• Identify and execute growth opportunities, including new products, customer segments, and partnerships.
• Provide reporting to the Board and Group on performance and strategic direction.
• Oversee underwriting performance, risk selection, pricing, and claims management.
• Monitor portfolio trends and implement corrective actions.
• Lead multi‑channel distribution growth through brokers, corporate partnerships, agency networks, and digital platforms.
• Build strategic partnerships with banks, corporates, and intermediaries.
• Ensure financial stewardship, cost optimisation, and capital allocation.
• Maintain accurate financial reporting in line with Group standards.
• Serve as Principal Officer, ensuring compliance with Mozambique insurance regulations and maintaining regulator relationships.
• Implement enterprise risk management and compliance frameworks.
• Build and lead a high‑performing organization.
