Community Affairs Supervisor

About the role

The Community Affairs Supervisor will act as the primary representative for socioeconomic and community matters at the project site in Cabo Delgado. This role ensures effective implementation of stakeholder engagement plans, grievance management and continuous monitoring of social risks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the site‑based Social and Environmental Management (SeM) team and coordinate community relations activities.
• Develop and execute stakeholder engagement plans with local authorities, CSOs, NGOs and community groups.
• Oversee the grievance management process, ensuring timely assessment, resolution and reporting.
• Maintain strong relationships with neighboring operators and facilitate information sharing.
• Monitor emerging social risks, rumors and community concerns, providing recommendations to senior leadership.
• Gather and analyse community intelligence to support risk assessments and impact monitoring.

Required profile

• Degree in social sciences, community development, sociology, environmental studies or related field.
• 8‑10 years of supervisory experience in community relations, grievance management and social performance.
• Proven leadership in complex operational environments and experience working with government and vulnerable groups.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Strong organisational, coordination and planning abilities with a self‑motivated work ethic.
