Compliance Officer

About the role

The Compliance Officer will ensure compliance for the Integrated Development IUCN grant at Zinave National Park, supporting community, infrastructure, and conservation management activities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and coordinate Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) and Environmental and Social Safeguard Management System (ESMS) processes at project level.
• Support rollout of M&E and ESMS training for project stakeholders.
• Coordinate data collection, manage data quality and governance.
• Maintain and update the Stakeholder and Complaints Registers and facilitate the complaints mechanism.
• Report to and liaise with the Project Risk and Compliance Committee.
• Assist the Head of Operations and Development and Project Manager with monthly and quarterly reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience in a similar environment, preferably in the non‑profit conservation sector.
• Qualification in Social/Environmental Safeguards, M&E, Environmental Management or Social Sciences.
• Strong administrative and multi‑tasking abilities.
• Mozambican citizenship and willingness to live and work in remote conditions.
• Understanding of environmental and social safeguard requirements.

Required skills

• Full professional proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese and English.
• Experience with report writing and data collection.
• Knowledge of M&E methodology, terminology and quality management.
• Familiarity with environmental and social safeguard frameworks.
