Compliance Regulatory Senior Officer

About the role

We are seeking a senior professional to coordinate regulatory compliance activities across a geographically diverse business unit in Mozambique. The role ensures consistent application of policies, presents a coherent view of compliance risks to senior stakeholders, and supports the bank’s strategic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in designing and overseeing the implementation of compliance and risk management strategies for the business unit.
• Develop and maintain a compliance operating model aligned with global best practice and local regulatory requirements.
• Act as a central point of entry for regulatory compliance activities, including policy frameworks, new product approvals, compliance reviews and reporting.
• Lead the delivery of agreed compliance activities and manage the financial plan and operational budget of the function.
• Engage with senior executives and business leaders to promote ownership and awareness of compliance responsibilities.
• Review, challenge and roll‑out compliance policies and standards, providing feedback in compliance forums.

Required profile

• Significant experience in regulatory compliance within the banking or financial services sector.
• Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and lead cross‑functional teams.
• Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, policy development and risk management.
• Experience managing budgets and financial planning for compliance functions.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to present risk assessments clearly.
