Construction Engineer

About the role

The Construction Engineer will oversee planning, technical support, and installation phases of on‑shore oil & gas projects, ensuring all work follows McDermott standards, drawings, and regulatory requirements. The role collaborates closely with the Technical Services Manager and Construction Manager to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Technical Services and Construction Managers during project execution.
• Review calculations, project documentation, and erection/assembly sequences.
• Ensure installations comply with drawings, specifications, and industry regulations.
• Resolve technical issues raised by civil, structural, and mechanical crews.
• Coordinate material reviews and installation activities with subcontractors.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
• Implement the National Content Plan and oversee commissioning readiness.
• Train and mentor local employees on company policies and oil‑gas construction processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of on‑shore construction experience, preferably on EPCi projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and materials used in the oil & gas sector.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Relevant certifications in project management or safety are a plus.
