Consultant to Facilitate 2026 UN Women Retreat in Mozambique

About the role

UN Women is seeking an experienced consultant to lead the planning and facilitation of its 2026 strategic retreat for the Country Office in Mozambique. The retreat will bring together UN agencies, government partners, civil society and private sector stakeholders to review progress on gender‑equality outcomes and shape the next phase of programming.

Key responsibilities

• Design the retreat agenda in line with UN Women’s Strategic Note and national development frameworks (ENDE, PQG, UNSDCF).
• Coordinate logistics, stakeholder invitations, and documentation for a multi‑day event.
• Facilitate discussions on economic empowerment, social protection, peace and security, and gender‑responsive legislation.
• Synthesize outcomes into actionable recommendations for the 2026‑2030 work plan.
• Ensure gender‑balanced participation and inclusive dialogue throughout the retreat.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilitating high‑level workshops or retreats, preferably within UN or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of gender equality frameworks, UN Women’s mandate, and Mozambique’s development priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver results under tight timelines.
