Contracts & Procurement Lead – Drilling

About the role

A global multi-energy company operating large-scale refining and petrochemical facilities is looking for a Contracts & Procurement (C&P) Lead for its Drilling Wells and Logistics unit. The role leads and organizes the C&P activities of the Drilling entity, supports partner entities and manages the C&P team in Maputo, Mozambique, on a resident basis.

Key responsibilities

• Assist partner entities on all Contracts and Procurement activities and organize and control the C&P function daily.
• Supervise and ensure the strategy is appropriate, transparent and justified for presentation to Contracts Committees.
• Drive cost optimization using market intelligence, supplier evaluations, cost models and target prices.
• Promote continuous improvement of C&P practices, procedures and reference documentation.
• Lead Duet/Triplet meetings with partners and technical managers, coordinate workload across the C&P workforce and manage the team while respecting the C&P reference system and local constraints.
• Maintain the necessary competency level, involve CATMAN for all applicable categories, and take part in job specifications, competence assessments and recruitment.
• Create procurement planning to anticipate partner needs, supervise technical contracts and take part in complex contracts and purchase orders.
• Ensure correct contract processes and report on Drilling Wells C&P activity to C&P management.

Required profile

• Master's degree or equivalent.
• 10-15 years of experience with excellent knowledge of supply chain.
• Understanding of project management, exploration, drilling, engineering and field operations, and excellent negotiation skills.
• Fluency in English.
• International experience is required.

Required skills

• Advanced certification in C&P tools.
• Contractual expertise in the related domain.

The position is based in Maputo, Mozambique, on a 12-month, renewable mission starting 01/12/2026.
