Customs Compliance Officer (m/f)

About the role

The Customs Compliance Officer will ensure that all equipment imports comply with existing customs regulations for a multinational energy company. The role involves coordinating with customs authorities, clearing agents, and internal logistics teams to guarantee smooth clearance of shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide instructions to TEPMA1 on customs formalities and trace key transaction documents such as bills of lading and commercial invoices.
• Create tracking files, engage with clearing agents for shipments arriving from Nacala, and liaise with the logistics team on cleared shipments and related payments.
• Monitor TEPMA1 import activities for compliance, interface with customs to support contractors, and produce weekly activity reports.
• Maintain the customs filing system, stay updated on regulatory changes, and promote good relationships with customs authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Audit or related field and customs certification.
• Minimum 3 years experience in Oil & Gas and 6 years in customs, preferably with EPC, contractor or subcontractor supervision.
• Fluent oral and written English and Portuguese, valid driver’s license with at least 5 years driving experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
• Knowledge of customs Single Window System (JUE) and customs formalities, processes, and documentation flows.
• Intermediate certification in Purchasing Technical Competencies and C&P tools.
