Data Management & Analytics Advisor – Retail Fuels

About the role

This role supports the growth, profitability and operational excellence of a retail fuels and convenience‑store network by managing, processing and analysing operational, commercial and financial data. The advisor provides data insights, performance analytics and forecasting to inform strategic and operational decisions across the retail value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Understand data structures, interfaces and flow across systems; collect, validate and maintain retail operational and sales data.
• Analyse weekly and monthly fuel and shop sales, margin performance and profitability; support Retail Territory Managers with insights and recommendations.
• Monitor stock movements, losses and reconciliations; identify anomalies in sales, stock or financial data and trigger corrective actions.
• Support pricing analysis and margin optimisation for fuels and non‑fuel offerings; provide market intelligence and competitor analysis.
• Improve data processes, automation and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, SAP); ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements and data‑governance standards.
• Collaborate with Supply, Finance, Operations and IT teams on data integration and reporting; develop dashboards and regular performance reports.
• Lead variance analysis, root‑cause assessments and recommend improvement actions for under‑performing stations.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of data structures, interfaces and transformation processes.
• Experience collecting, validating and maintaining operational retail data.
• Ability to analyse sales, margin and profitability metrics and provide actionable insights.
• Familiarity with internal controls, audit requirements and data‑governance standards.
• Proven capability to work cross‑functionally with Supply, Finance, Operations and IT teams.
