Diesel Mechanic

About the role

The Diesel Mechanic ensures that diesel‑powered vehicles, cane loaders, tractors and earth‑moving equipment operate safely and efficiently. Working on‑site, you will keep the fleet running by performing routine maintenance, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Service, diagnose, maintain and repair diesel‑powered vehicles, cane loaders, tractors and earth‑moving equipment.
• Implement preventive maintenance programmes to minimise downtime.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and restore equipment to operational status.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, legal and company standards throughout all work activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or similar role working with heavy equipment.
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed technical procedures.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and commitment to a safe working environment.
• Physical stamina to handle demanding repair tasks.

• Diesel engine diagnostics.
