Education Technical Officer – Mozambique

About the role

The Education Technical Officer will provide technical leadership and support for education activities within NRC's projects in Mozambique. Working closely with partners, communities and internal teams, the officer ensures that education interventions meet humanitarian standards and effectively reach the most vulnerable beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with NRC policies, guidelines, and the CC strategy for education projects.
• Lead the technical implementation, monitoring, and quality control of education activities.
• Track financial expenditures related to technical components of education projects.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including scopes of work and monitoring reports.
• Provide technical analysis and feedback to NRC representatives in coordination forums.
• Collaborate with Education PDM, CC Specialists, Area Management, and support teams (Logistics, Finance, HR, HAS) to develop and implement strategies.
• Promote the rights of IDPs and returnees in line with NRC’s advocacy strategy.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in humanitarian project implementation, specifically managing and supervising education projects.
• Experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English; knowledge of local languages in Cabo Delgado is an advantage.
