Electrical Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of electrical equipment and systems in a heavy‑industry environment. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance while adhering to EHS guidelines and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to breakdowns of LV‑MV motors, LV switchboards, MCCs, plant lighting, transformers, UPS, VFDs, breakers, soft starters, and related equipment.
• Carry out planned, preventive, and predictive maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose electrical failures, repair or replace components, re‑assemble and test equipment, and keep work areas clean.
• Use SAP to order spare parts, record maintenance activities, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Monitor recurring issues and recommend modifications to reduce downtime.
• Provide technical guidance to new electricians, trainees, and contractors.
• Participate in 5S, Business Excellence, and safety initiatives to improve plant performance.

Required profile

• Diploma in a relevant electrical field.
• Completion of PEC Craft Training.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance within heavy industry.
• Good written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Experience with LV‑MV motors, LV switchboards, motor control centers (MCC), transformers, UPS, VFDs, breakers, and soft starters.
• Proficiency in using SAP for maintenance management.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and instructions.
• Familiarity with standard maintenance tools and basic IT knowledge.
