Energy Project Officer (Full‑time)

About the role

Enabel is seeking an Energy Project Officer to support the implementation, coordination and monitoring of its Energy Portfolio in Mozambique. The role contributes to accelerating the country’s energy transition, expanding sustainable energy access and strengthening sector governance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage contracts and grants, evaluate proposals and monitor deliverables.
• Collect, verify and analyse data, maintain monitoring tools and produce technical briefs.
• Coordinate with FUNAE, MIREME, development partners, private operators and other stakeholders; organise sector platforms and working groups.
• Plan and lead workshops, training sessions, stakeholder consultations and regular field missions.
• Document tools, procedures and lessons learned, supporting knowledge‑sharing and communication initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Energy, Engineering, Economics, Environmental Sciences, Development Studies, Law or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in the energy sector, especially off‑grid or decentralized renewable solutions.
• Proven experience in contract or grant management and implementation follow‑up.
• Experience working with public institutions and private‑sector stakeholders.
• Facilitation experience for workshops, multi‑stakeholder meetings or similar processes.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and data‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.
• Familiarity with Results‑Based Management principles.
• Proficiency in standard IT applications.
• Fluency in Portuguese and working knowledge of English.
