Environmental Advisor – Upstream

About the role

The Environmental Advisor – Upstream will support the Mozambique LNG Project by ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and implementing best‑practice environmental management throughout the upstream phase. You will work closely with the Upstream HSE Manager, design teams and EPCI contractors to embed the company’s environmental standards into project design and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and implement the Project Regulatory Compliance Plan and Environmental Management Plan.
• Assist the Upstream HSE Manager with environmental and regulatory activities, identifying and applying best environmental practices.
• Obtain and track project permits, licences and approvals, maintaining the project’s compliance status.
• Interface with design and execution teams to integrate environmental requirements into project designs.
• Recommend and oversee mitigation measures for environmental impacts.
• Work with EPCI contractors to develop and review Environmental & Regulatory plans (e.g., EMP, Waste Management Plans, Spill Response Plans).
• Ensure alignment of EPCI monitoring procedures with environmental management requirements for both shallow and deep‑water construction.
• Manage environmental monitoring data and reporting to project, biodiversity, lender and local authority stakeholders.
• Coordinate on‑site EMP implementation and performance monitoring, maintaining regular site presence.

Required profile

• University degree in environmental science, engineering or a related discipline.
