Finance Technical Officer

About the role

The Finance Technical Officer supports NRC's financial operations in Mueda, ensuring accurate cash management, timely payments, and compliance with internal policies. This position works closely with the finance team, audit department, and field staff to maintain robust financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Record all cash movements, conduct periodic cash counts and reconcile bank accounts and cashboxes.
• Process invoices, vouchers, receipts and enter them into the accounting system daily.
• Prepare bank withdrawals, transfers and verify them before execution.
• Monitor and recover travel and mid‑month advances, providing monthly updates to the Finance Officer.
• Maintain filing systems for financial, audit and accounting documents.
• Support audit activities by preparing sample documents, verifying files and assisting auditors.
• Prepare status reports, ensure proper document filing and suggest improvements to the support function.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant finance or accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Experience in cash handling and bank reconciliation.
• Ability to verify invoices, vouchers and supporting documents.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
